As Andrew Altschul so eloquently put it, the "emotional muscle" of Charles D'Ambrosio's reading and the inherent strength of emotion punched me straight in the chest and left me reeling for days. The first piece about his brother's schizophrenia and that brother's reflection upon his lot in life and upon his youngest brother, lost to suicide, were at once touching and harrowing, and poetic.

"I am fine as a blade of grass."

Fine indeed.
